Atelier 34zero Muzeum is an independent art centre, created in 2014. Born from the ashes of the Atelier 340 Muzeum, its main mission is the study and promotion of sculpture and three-dimensional art in Belgium and abroad.
Atelier 34zero Muzeum organises 3 to 4 exhibitions a year in its own spaces as well as several events extra muros. Three types of exhibitions are organised: thematic, confrontational or comparative, and personal (retrospectives).
These are accompanied by quality publications; quadrilingual and richly illustrated catalogues, and postcards.
Atelier 34zero Muzeum also houses a Documentation Centre specialised in contemporary sculpture, a Research Centre on Stone material, as well as a collection of artworks acquired to preserve both the memory of its activities and to serve as a tool to further the questions that emerge from the exhibitions.
Surrounding Atelier 34zero Muzeum is a cultural park dedicated to artistic creations and social art projects. There is also a studio for artists in residence.
Along with its exhibitions, Atelier 34zero Muzeum organises workshops and stages to acquaint children with sculpture. Those are organised during school periods and school holidays.
Furthermore, Atelier 34zero Muzeum organises conferences, debates and video screenings to complement the core activities. Apart from a bookshop with new and second hand books specialising in contemporary sculpture, there is also a cultural bar-restaurant, a mini-library in free-access with free wifi and a video screening room.
